Chobe Semi-Luxury Camping Safari – 2 Days, 2 Nights | From $1,100

Spacious en-suite walk-in tents, gourmet cuisine, house wines with dinner, sundowners on the Chobe River. Adventure and comfort are not mutually exclusive – this safari proves it.

The Chobe Semi-Luxury Camping Safari answers a specific question: is it possible to sleep inside Chobe National Park without roughing it? The answer is yes – and the answer is this safari.

Spacious canvas walk-in tents with en-suite bathrooms. Plush bedding, real towels, proper pillows. Gourmet cuisine prepared fresh each day by a dedicated camp chef. House wines served with dinner under the stars. Morning coffee delivered to your tent door before the dawn drive. And then – exactly the same Chobe: 120,000 elephants, lions at first light, the river cruise, the fireflies, the Milky Way.

Itinerary & What to Expect

What ‘Semi-Luxury’ Means in Practice

The tent: A spacious canvas walk-in tent (approximately 3m × 4m floor space) with a proper camp bed, high-quality mattress, plush bedding, and real pillows. Not a dome tent – a proper standing tent.

The bathroom: Each tent has an en-suite bush bathroom – a private canvas-enclosed area containing a portable flush toilet, a hot-water safari shower (heated by a wood fire burner), and a proper washbasin with mirror. You shower with hot water. At a bush campsite inside Chobe National Park.

The food: Your dedicated camp chef prepares all meals fresh. Breakfast is a full spread – eggs cooked to order, bacon, mushrooms, tomatoes, toast, fresh fruit, freshly ground coffee. Dinner is a gourmet bush affair – a starter, main course (typically game meat, beef, or fish), and dessert. House wines included.

The service: A camp crew of 3–4 people manages the camp, cooks, sets up and breaks down equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the semi-luxury safari and the standard camping safari?

The standard camping safaris use dome tents with sleeping bags, a shared bush toilet, and meals cooked over a fire by your guide. The semi-luxury safari uses spacious walk-in tents with en-suite hot-water showers, flush toilets, and quality bedding. Food is prepared by a dedicated camp chef to a gourmet standard. House wines included. The wildlife experience – game drives, river cruises, park access – is identical.

Is the hot shower genuinely hot?

Yes – the shower is heated by a wood-fired water boiler maintained by the camp crew. It is a proper hot shower. Advise the camp manager of your preferred shower time and the water will be ready.

Is this suitable for a honeymoon?

Absolutely – it is one of the most genuinely romantic safari formats available in the region. Contact us when booking to discuss special arrangements such as champagne on arrival or a private dinner setup.

What is included in the Chobe semi-luxury camping safari?

Included: hotel pickup/drop-off, border crossing assistance, 5 game drives across 3 days, 1 sunset river cruise, 2 nights in spacious en-suite walk-in tents, gourmet 3-course dinners with house wines, full cooked breakfasts, light lunches, all non-alcoholic beverages, dedicated camp crew and chef, professional guide, and all Chobe National Park fees.
